The entire street block next to the Taiwan Normal University is the Shida Night Market. All kinds of stalls and stores are densely packed in the countless narrow lanes that you can??t the difference. There are personality coffee shops, internet café, fashion boutiques, home supply outlets, artistic restaurants, and many renowned gourmet eateries.
Because there are many foreign students are studying Chinese in the Taiwan Normal University, this street block has quite a few non-Chinese cuisine restaurants and eateries. American-Mexican, Thai, Indian, Italian, Germany, French, Japanese, Southeast Asian, English pub, and even Tibetan cuisines can be found here. They together assemble a mosaic-like map of gourmet foods that cater to your preference at adequate price. If you plan for a long stay in Taipei, this area is your personal kitchen.

Some of the stalls in this night market are known to the whole Taipei City. Everyday these stalls have waiting lines of students and are particularly visited by the locals.
